editing

i have worked at the heart of uk trade publishing for over five years, with editorial experience at hachette, penguin random house and pan macmillan. i specialise in non-fiction editing and provide freelance services.

as a freelance editor, i work with authors, agents and publishers on developing brilliant stories. most recently, I edited grant brydon’s life lessons from hip-hop, published by dorling kindersley. i also guest-edited bad form’s seventh issue, which was dedicated to caribbean literature, collaborating with duppy share on the publication. i offer freelance editing services, including structural and line editing.

I’ve also collaborated with publishers and award bodies as a guest judge. i am currently a guest judge for the crime writers’ association award, the alcs gold dagger for non-fiction award. I’ve previously judged awards including penguin random house’s lit in colour creative student prize and dope reader club x guap’s letter to a womxn competition.

i work with literary agencies and agents, as well as publishers, to source talent for their rosters. i have sourced talent for agents at bergstrom studio, wme, c+w and the good literary agency, among others. for testimonials, see here.

sensitivity reading

i work with publishers and organisations by providing sensitivity reading services. i also consult on internal diversity & inclusion guidelines (solely editorial guidelines). i also have a roster of sensitivity readers i work with so do reach out to us if you’d me to recommend readers.
